New Year’s Day saw a fresh increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) rates across the country.
Petron announced that its LPG price rose by P2.18 per kilogram, taking effect just after midnight Thursday, citing changes in the global market.
Solane followed with the same adjustment, which started at 6 a.m. and already included value-added tax.
The hike means households using the common 11-kg LPG cylinder will pay almost P24 more per tank.
Distributors said the rise is part of routine adjustments tied to international supply and contract costs.
Consumers are being encouraged to factor in the higher LPG prices in their monthly budgets.
Government agencies stressed the importance of transparent pricing and proper disclosure to buyers.
