The trough of a low pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility is expected to bring rains over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao on Tuesday, according to PAGASA.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said the LPA has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
As of 2 a.m., the weather disturbance was located about 1,805 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas.
Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Bohol and Davao Oriental may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA’s trough.
PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains could trigger flash floods or landslides in affected areas.
The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms, with flooding and landslides also possible during severe thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are expected over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
