PERLAS shine in WMPBL.
MANILA, Philippines — Allana Lim and Tantoy Ferrer were unstoppable, as Discovery handed Philippine Navy its first loss, 80-71, in the 2025 Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (WMPBL) Invitational on Wednesday at the Enderun Colleges Gym in Taguig.
Lim and Ferrer combined for an impressive display, leading Perlas to a 2-1 record in the league supported by Manny Pacquiao, Sen. Francis Tolentino, and the MPBL Party-list.
The 36-year-old former national team forward Lim was a force, putting up 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting while adding eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Ferrer, the former UST standout, matched her with another 20-point performance on 8-of-11 shooting, along with nine rebounds and three assists.
Navy, trailing by 13 in the final period, tried to make a comeback led by Afril Bernardino, who nailed a 3-pointer to ignite a 7-0 run, pulling the Lady Sailors within six at 68-62 with 5:47 left.
But Ferrer had the answer, burying a clutch triple to push Perlas’ lead back to nine, 71-62. Lim then sealed the win for Discovery with three straight baskets, securing their second consecutive victory.
