Light traffic was observed along the North Luzon Expressway on Wednesday evening as travelers began leaving for the Holy Week break.

In an update, NLEX Corporation said traffic remained manageable as of 6 p.m. in key areas, including Balintawak, Mindanao, Bocaue, and San Fernando in both directions.

However, a buildup of vehicles measuring around 200 meters was reported at the Tarlac Toll Plaza of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway.

The operator said traffic conditions across other sections of the NLEX, SCTEX, and the NLEX Connector remained generally light, including at toll plazas and interchanges.

It added that the leftmost lane of the East Service Road from Ever Memorial Garden to Libtong in Meycauayan was opened as an additional lane for northbound motorists during daytime hours.

In contrast, traffic along the South Luzon Expressway ranged from moderate to heavy as of early evening.

Congestion was reported at the southbound Turbina Exit with a queue reaching about 500 meters, while other areas such as Real Exit and Sipit Bridge recorded shorter but noticeable vehicle buildup.

Heavier traffic was also monitored in Sto. Tomas and parts of the Metro Manila Skyway, while the NAIA Expressway generally maintained light flow across its toll plazas and ramps.
