Senator Loren Legarda remained on medical leave through August 19, Senate Secretary Renato Bantug confirmed Monday.
Bantug said Legarda’s office submitted a letter informing the Senate that her medical leave would cover August 17 to 19.
The senator has been absent from both Senate sessions and Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial since August 3.
Legarda left the Philippines for France on August 2 and had earlier filed medical leave for August 3 to 5 and again for August 11 to 12.
Her latest absence came as she and her son, Batangas First District Rep. Leandro Leviste, faced a preliminary investigation by the Office of the Ombudsman.
The probe also included former Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi and involved allegations of graft and plunder tied to supposed ghost solar projects worth more than Php 10 billion.
Legarda had previously denied the accusations, calling them false and baseless, and urged the public not to connect her overseas travel to the case.
Her office had yet to release a fresh statement explaining the latest extension of her medical leave as of Monday.
