Jordan Heading turns Finals heartbreak into fuel as TNT eyes redemption

Jordan Heading is stepping into the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup Finals with sharper focus and a heavier chip on his shoulder, determined to help steer TNT Tropang 5G toward a different ending this time around.

Speaking during the PBA Finals Press Conference presented by Arena Plus, the former Gilas Pilipinas standout admitted that TNT’s painful loss to San Miguel Beer in last season’s all-Filipino championship series left lasting lessons—ones he plans to cash in on when the Finals tip off anew.

“I learned a lot from that series,” said Heading. “It was my first time really going up against those guys from San Miguel. I didn’t know them that well before, so that experience taught me plenty.”

Those hard-earned lessons came early in his TNT journey. Heading only joined the Tropang 5G during the previous Philippine Cup, still feeling his way through a new system and new teammates while being thrown straight into Finals pressure.

Months later, the difference is clear. Chemistry has grown, familiarity has settled in, and the sting of that six-game defeat to the Beermen has quietly fueled his preparation.

Now more comfortable in TNT colors, Heading sees this Finals rematch as more than just another title shot—it’s a chance to apply what he learned the hard way and help swing the balance.

Heading and the Tropang 5G open their best-of-seven Finals series against San Miguel on Wednesday at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo, hoping that growth, experience, and unfinished business will finally tip the scales in their favor.
