Marck Espejo’s volleyball passport is getting another stamp, and this time it points to Taiwan.

The Filipino opposite hitter is set for a fresh overseas chapter after being officially unveiled by the TSG Skyhawks, adding another destination to a career defined by movement, growth, and quiet consistency on the international stage.

At 28, Espejo is no stranger to life abroad. Taiwan becomes his seventh overseas stop, following stints across Japan, Bahrain, and Korea—leagues that tested not just his scoring touch, but his adaptability as a complete, two-way player.

Each stop sharpened his game, and each return home seemed to bring a more mature version of the former UAAP star.

That evolution was on full display over the past year. Espejo emerged as a stabilizing force for Alas Pilipinas Men, playing a pivotal role in the national squad’s breakthrough campaign at the FIVB Men’s World Championship.

When the pressure peaked at the SEA Games, he delivered again, erupting for 30 points to fuel a dramatic comeback against Vietnam and secure the bronze medal—one of the defining moments of the team’s run.

His club career also crossed an important threshold in 2025. Espejo finally lifted a championship trophy with the Criss Cross King Crunchers, capturing the Spikers’ Turf Invitational Conference title. Though national team duties limited his appearances, his presence early in the tournament helped set the tone for a squad that would finish the job.

Now, that momentum carries over to Taiwan, where Espejo joins a Skyhawks team sitting second in the four-team Taiwan Professional Volleyball League standings with an 18–12 record.

The club is firmly in contention, and Espejo’s arrival injects proven international experience into a roster aiming to convert promise into a deep postseason push.

For Espejo, the move is less about starting over and more about continuing a journey built on steady progress. Each overseas stint has added a layer to his game—and in Taiwan, he steps in not just as a scorer, but as a veteran presence shaped by years of playing under different systems, cultures, and expectations.

As the Skyhawks chase bigger goals this season, Espejo once again finds himself where he thrives most: in unfamiliar territory, with something to prove, and another opportunity to show how far Philippine volleyball has come.
