‘Jay Kamote’ and ‘Miggy Mango’ Among Alleged Fake Recipients of OVP Confidential Funds—Ortega

House Deputy Majority Leader Francisco Paolo Ortega V has revealed additional questionable names allegedly linked to the disbursement of confidential funds from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) under Sara Duterte. Among the newly flagged recipients are “Jay Kamote” and “Miggy Mango.”

In a statement on Sunday, Ortega, a congressman from La Union, said that the list also includes the names “Dodong Alcala,” “Dodong Bina,” “Dodong Bunal,” “Dodong Darong,” and “Dodong S. Barok.”

According to Ortega, this could strengthen the impeachment case against Duterte.

The complaints include receipts with incorrect dates, signatures without names, and illegible signatories, which were allegedly used to justify the use of confidential funds by the OVP and the Department of Education (DepEd) in 2022 and 2023 under her leadership.

Previously, the name “Mary Grace Piattos” surfaced, with no official record from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). More recently, the name “Xiaome Ocho” also emerged, which shares a name with a well-known cellphone brand.

“Hindi lang ito kapabayaan—ito ay isang maingat na planong paglustay sa pondo ng bayan. Peke ang mga pangalan, peke ang liquidation, at peke ang pananagutan,” Ortega said.

After the House of Representatives transmitted the articles of impeachment to the Senate, Duterte’s camp filed a petition with the Supreme Court questioning the validity of the complaint against her.

Duterte has strongly denied any irregularities, insisting that the allegations against her are purely political.

Meanwhile, Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero announced that the Senate will begin impeachment hearings in July 2025.
