Police have arrested the primary suspect in the robbery and killing of a 23-year-old online seller in Mandaluyong City following a coordinated investigation that led authorities to Quezon City.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the suspect was apprehended on November 5, 2026, during an operation conducted by the Eastern Police District (EPD), through the Mandaluyong City Police Station, in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Division and other police units.

The incident occurred on November 1 along Connecticut Street in Barangay Wack-Wack, Mandaluyong City, during an arranged online selling transaction.

According to police, investigators reviewed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, gathered intelligence information, and coordinated with other units to establish the suspect’s movements and identify the vehicle allegedly used in the crime.

The investigation eventually led authorities to Quezon City, where police intercepted the vehicle and arrested the suspect without further incident.

The suspect remains in police custody as investigators prepare the necessary evidence and documents for the filing of a robbery with homicide complaint before the City Prosecutor’s Office.

PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. emphasized the importance of thorough investigations and coordination among police units in pursuing suspects and ensuring accountability.

“Kapag may nangyaring ganito, mahalagang hindi natin palampasin ang bawat detalye at pagkakataong makatulong sa imbestigasyon,” Nartatez said.

“We owe it to the victim and the family to pursue the case diligently, establish the facts, and ensure that the proper legal process takes its course,” he added.

Nartatez said the arrest demonstrated the importance of cooperation among police units, particularly in investigations involving multiple jurisdictions.
