The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will continue to affect Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan on Wednesday, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its 4 a.m. forecast on October 7, PAGASA warned that moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides in affected areas.
Batanes and Cagayan, meanwhile, will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the northeasterly windflow. PAGASA likewise cautioned residents in vulnerable areas against possible flooding and landslides during periods of heavier rainfall.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms may bring sudden heavy rains that could result in flash floods or landslides.
Moderate to strong northeasterly winds will prevail over the northern and eastern sections of Northern Luzon, where coastal waters are forecast to be moderate to rough, with waves reaching 2.5 to 4 meters.
The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest, with slight to moderate seas of 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
Over Visayas and Mindanao, light to moderate winds from the southwest to northwest will prevail, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
PAGASA advised fisherfolk and operators of small sea vessels, particularly in areas with rough seas, to exercise caution before venturing out.
For Metro Manila, temperatures over the previous 24-hour period ranged from 25.1°C to 32.3°C, while relative humidity ranged from 63 percent to 94 percent.
Sunrise in Metro Manila is at 5:46 a.m., while sunset is at 5:42 p.m.
Residents are advised to continue monitoring PAGASA weather bulletins and local advisories, especially in flood- and landslide-prone areas.
