ERC pushes renewable energy, flexible power options at AEBF 2026

MANILA – The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) joined energy industry leaders in discussing ways to advance renewable energy and flexible power solutions during the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2026.

The ERC participated in a panel discussion focused on expanding renewable energy and developing flexible energy options as the region works toward a more secure, reliable and sustainable power system.

The discussion brought together representatives from government, the energy sector and other stakeholders to exchange views on policies and strategies needed to support the transition toward cleaner sources of electricity.

Among the key issues highlighted were the integration of renewable energy into power grids and the importance of flexible energy technologies in maintaining system reliability as more variable renewable sources are deployed.

The forum also provided an opportunity for participants to discuss regulatory and industry measures that could encourage investments in clean energy while ensuring adequate and dependable electricity supply for consumers.

The AEBF serves as a platform for government officials, regulators, investors and energy industry leaders to discuss regional energy priorities and opportunities for cooperation among ASEAN member states.
