Two Israeli soldiers were killed and four others were wounded after an explosive device detonated in southern Lebanon, according to Israeli media.
The blast occurred in Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district, where Israeli forces have continued operating despite a ceasefire.
Israel’s military confirmed on Thursday that the two soldiers died during the incident the previous day.
No immediate details were released on who planted the device or how it was triggered.
The attack came as Lebanese and Israeli officials held a seventh round of talks in Rome under US mediation.
The three-day discussions focused on the ceasefire, Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese territory and other security issues.
The negotiations were expected to conclude on Thursday, although no breakthrough had been announced.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said Israeli attacks since March 2 had killed at least 4,333 people and wounded 12,250 others.
