Israel has called up 100,000 reservists as it prepares to broaden its military operations in the Middle East, local media reported Monday.

The Israeli army said the mobilization aims to reinforce troops across all fronts involved in Operation Roaring Lion, the ongoing campaign against Iran.

Military intelligence coordinated the reserve call-up in anticipation of expanding the offensive into additional areas of engagement.

Early Monday, Israeli forces launched an operation targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, marking a significant escalation in the conflict.

Airstrikes struck Beirut’s southern suburbs and regions in southern Lebanon, killing 31 people and injuring 149, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for retaliatory attacks, firing missiles and drones at an Israeli military site in response to repeated strikes and the killing of Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader.

Since Saturday, Israel and the United States have conducted military operations against Iran, resulting in hundreds of deaths, including Khamenei and other senior officials.

Washington and Tel Aviv accused Iran of pursuing nuclear and missile programs that threaten regional allies, while Tehran insisted its nuclear efforts are peaceful and denied any intent to produce nuclear weapons.
