The head of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on Thursday said he is drafting a 140-day report outlining the body’s accomplishments and additional recommendations.

ICI chair Andres Reyes disclosed this during a Manila Overseas Press Club event, where he presented the commission’s progress since its creation in September.

He said earlier submissions included 30-day and 60-day reports, and the upcoming document would build on these with further findings and proposals. Reyes declined to reveal specific details, noting that the contents would only be made public after formal transmission to the Office of the Ombudsman.

The commission recently submitted a 125-day accomplishment report to the Office of the President, summarizing developments in its probe into alleged flood control irregularities.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier said he was still reviewing the report, even as he remarked that the commission’s work may be nearing completion depending on the scope of remaining tasks.

Reyes said the ICI intends to continue pursuing investigations into suspected corruption in infrastructure projects, particularly flood control works, if permitted to proceed. He expressed confidence in the commission’s commitment to sustain its efforts against anomalies.

Asked about his remark that the fight would continue “if allowed,” Reyes said he could not carry out the work alone, but maintained that the commission remains operational and is still examining other cases.

He also did not comment on whether new commissioners should be appointed. Reyes is currently the sole remaining member of the ICI following the resignations of former Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson and SGV Country Managing Partner Rossana Fajardo.
