Warm and humid conditions continued to prevail across the country on Monday, April 27, with isolated rain showers expected in many areas, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The state weather bureau said the prevailing easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, remained the main weather system affecting the country.

Pagasa said temperatures in Metro Manila climbed to as high as 35°C, particularly from late morning to the afternoon.

In other parts of the country, temperatures ranged from 24°C to 33°C in Laoag City, 25°C to 36°C in Tuguegarao City, and 17°C to 25°C in Baguio City.

Tagaytay City recorded temperatures between 23°C and 33°C, while Legazpi City saw 27°C to 33°C and Puerto Princesa ranged from 28°C to 34°C.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, Cebu City experienced 27°C to 33°C, Iloilo City 26°C to 34°C, and Davao City 25°C to 34°C, among other areas.

The agency added that most parts of the country could expect isolated rain showers or thunderstorms from afternoon to evening, which may bring temporary relief from the heat.

However, scattered rains were expected in Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte, resulting in slightly cooler conditions in these areas.
