Globe strengthens mobile leadership as data usage surges, advances hyperpersonalized digital experience

As Filipinos increasingly rely on their smartphones for entertainment, work, learning, shopping, banking, and staying connected, Globe continues to reinforce its position as the country’s mobile leader by expanding its network, growing its data business, and delivering more personalized digital experiences.

Driven by changing consumer habits and the rapid adoption of digital services, Globe sustained strong momentum in its mobile business during the first quarter of 2026, backed by continued investments in network infrastructure, customer experience, and next-generation technologies.

To support rising demand for faster and more reliable connectivity, Globe activated 408 new 5G sites during the quarter, expanding its outdoor 5G population coverage to more than 98% across Metro Manila and key cities in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Data Powers the Digital Economy
Mobile data continues to fuel Globe’s growth as customers spend more time online for video streaming, social media, gaming, digital payments, remote work, and other everyday digital activities.

Data now contributes 89% of Globe’s total mobile service revenues, up from 85% a year ago, highlighting the steady shift away from traditional voice and SMS services toward a data-first digital lifestyle.

Globe’s mobile business generated Php30 billion in revenues during the first quarter, representing a 6% year-on-year increase, while its mobile subscriber base grew to approximately 67 million customers.

The company’s mobile data revenues likewise climbed 11% year-on-year, supported by an 18% increase in mobile data traffic. Average monthly data usage also continued to rise, reaching around 16 GB per subscriber, reflecting Filipinos’ growing appetite for digital content and online services.

More than 39 million Globe customers are now active mobile data users, underscoring the central role connectivity plays in everyday life. Meanwhile, the GlobeOne app continues to gain traction, attracting an average of 8 million monthly active users as customers increasingly embrace digital self-service and personalized account management.

Investing in a Smarter Customer Experience
Beyond expanding network capacity, Globe is sharpening its focus on delivering more relevant and intuitive digital experiences through hyperpersonalization—leveraging technology and customer insights to better anticipate individual needs.

“Our priority is to execute on our plans well. We will deliver better customer experience through our digital platforms, and serve products that are relevant through hyperpersonalization. While we continue to expand our 5G network, we intend to deepen our fiber footprint, and differentiate more using digital technologies,” said Darius Delgado, Globe Chief Commercial Officer.

As the country’s digital transformation accelerates, Globe remains committed to investing in technologies that enable faster connectivity, smarter digital services, and seamless customer experiences. By continuously enhancing its mobile and digital ecosystem, the company aims to empower individuals, support businesses, and help build a more connected and digitally inclusive Philippines.
