GAC Philippines turned heads at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show with the official launch of the GS8 HEV and a wider showcase of its new energy vehicle lineup.
Leading the brand’s MIAS presentation was the GS8 HEV, a hybrid SUV positioned as a premium option for Filipino drivers seeking power, efficiency, and versatility in one package.
With its bold design, large road presence, and upscale cabin, the GS8 HEV was presented as a vehicle built for both daily city driving and longer, more demanding journeys.
The SUV is powered by GAC’s 2.0T Mega Wave Powertrain paired with the fourth-generation Toyota Hybrid System, delivering 140 kW and 320 Nm of torque.
GAC said the GS8 HEV’s intelligent E-Four 4WD system and multiple drive modes allow it to handle different road conditions while maintaining a smooth and refined ride.
Inside, the vehicle features a spacious seven-seat layout, premium leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and flexible cargo space through its power-folding third row.
Its technology package includes a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, and a 10-speaker Alpine sound system.
Safety is also a major selling point, with the GS8 HEV carrying advanced driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and a 540-degree surround-view camera.
Also drawing attention at the GAC booth was the preview of the E8 HEV, a family-oriented seven-seater hybrid MPV built for long-range travel and everyday practicality.
GAC said the E8 HEV offers a combined range of up to 1,200 kilometers, along with premium comfort features and generous cargo capacity.
The company also revealed the official pricing of the GN8 PHEV, its luxury plug-in hybrid MPV designed for executive travel with a greener edge.
Rounding out the display were the refreshed 2026 EMZOOM, the all-electric AION V, and the HYPTEC HT, giving MIAS visitors a broader look at GAC’s expanding electrified portfolio.
Beyond the display vehicles, GAC also offered test drives to let visitors experience selected models firsthand on the show floor.
The company said its push into electrified mobility is backed by an expanding 30-dealership network, a dedicated parts warehouse in Manila, and long-term warranty support for customers.
With the GS8 HEV taking center stage, GAC used MIAS 2026 to signal a stronger and more ambitious move into the future of mobility in the Philippines.
