From first alarm to last ride home, REDMI 17 series powers through the Filipino day

The alarm rings before sunrise. Messages arrive before breakfast. By the time you reach school or the office, your phone has already handled directions, a playlist, a few emails, and perhaps an episode squeezed into the commute.

And the day is just getting started.

For many Filipinos, a smartphone needs to last through classes, deadlines, errands, and the long journey home—with enough power left for a quick call to say, “Pauwi na.”

That everyday need takes center stage with the REDMI 17 Series, launching in the Philippines on October 19, 2026. Comprising the REDMI 17 4G and REDMI 17 5G, the lineup combines a substantial battery, a large entertainment-ready screen, and practical durability features at accessible prices.

Power for packed schedules

The series’ biggest draw is its 7,500mAh battery, designed to give users more time between charges.

For students, that means power for research, class group chats, and downtime after school. For professionals, it means keeping emails, maps, calls, and music within reach through a busy workday and the commute that follows.

According to Xiaomi, the REDMI 17 delivers up to 28 hours of video playback, 91 hours of music playback, or 46 hours of calling. The REDMI 17 5G offers up to 28 hours of local video playback, 109 hours of music playback through Bluetooth earphones, or 53 hours of calling.

Actual endurance varies with usage, settings, and network conditions, but the emphasis is clear: fewer interruptions to find a power outlet.

When it is time to recharge, 45W turbo charging can bring the battery to full capacity in approximately 96 minutes. Xiaomi also says a 35-minute charge can provide enough power for a day of typical use.

The phones support 22.5W wired reverse charging, too, allowing users to share power with compatible accessories or another device—a handy extra when a friend’s phone needs a boost.

A bigger view of everyday entertainment
Whether it is a K-drama during a break, a video call with family, or a weekend gaming session with the barkada, screen space makes a difference.

The REDMI 17 Series features a 6.9-inch display, giving users ample room for watching, reading, browsing, and playing. Its 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate switches between 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz to balance smoother interactions with power consumption.

For extended viewing, the display includes Triple TÜV Rheinland certifications and DC dimming, features intended to support viewing comfort.

Meanwhile, dual stereo speakers with up to 300% volume boost give movies, music, and calls added presence.

Ready for the bumps along the way
Daily use brings its share of mishaps: a phone jostling inside a bag, an accidental knock, or a sudden shower while waiting for a ride.

The REDMI 17 Series pairs Corning Gorilla Glass 7i with an IP64 dust- and splash-resistance rating for added protection. Wet Touch Technology helps keep the screen responsive when fingers are damp, making it useful during everyday encounters with moisture. The phones are not designed for underwater use.

A flat display, matte frame, and refined camera detailing give the lineup a polished appearance. The Dynamic RGB Light system adds a playful element through customizable lighting effects for calls, notifications, charging, gaming, and camera use.

Everyday tasks, familiar moments
The REDMI 17 4G runs on the MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra, while the REDMI 17 5G uses the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, with 5G connectivity available where supported.

Both run Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and support Memory Extension. The Philippine variants come with 4GB of physical RAM and 128GB of storage; extended memory uses storage space to supplement RAM.

For photos and videos, a 50MP AI dual camera system handles everyday memories, from family celebrations to spontaneous food trips. Front and rear dual-view shooting lets users record from both perspectives simultaneously—capturing the scene and their reaction in the same moment.

More value beyond the checkout
The REDMI 17 Series focuses on features that earn their place in a daily routine: battery endurance, a roomy screen, practical protection, and accessible pricing.

The REDMI 17 4G (4GB+128GB) has a suggested retail price of ₱12,999, while the REDMI 17 5G (4GB+128GB) is priced at ₱14,999. During the October 23 to 31 first-sale period, early-bird prices bring these down to ₱11,999 and ₱13,999, respectively.

Eligible customers purchasing during the same period can also receive a VIP Card with after-sales benefits worth up to ₱21,200, including:

One free battery replacement within three years

One free screen replacement within two years

One free back cover or camera lens replacement within two years

A 24-month quality assurance benefit

Terms and conditions apply, and eligibility is limited.

For Filipinos replacing an aging phone or choosing an affordable upgrade, the appeal starts with a simple priority: having a device ready when the day calls for it—from the first alarm to the last ride home.
