The SM Group has added 12 Stevie Awards to its growing list of international recognitions, earning honors for corporate reporting, sustainability initiatives and community-focused programs at the 2026 International Business Awards.
The awards highlighted efforts across SM Investments Corporation, the parent company of the SM Group, and SM Supermalls, reflecting how the conglomerate is combining stronger corporate transparency with programs designed to create an impact in communities.
SM Investments secured four awards, led by two Gold Stevies for its 2025 Integrated Report, which won in the Conglomerates — Large and Best Annual Report — Publicly Held Corporations categories.
The company’s 2025 Sustainability Report received a Bronze Stevie for Best Sustainability Report, while the SM Sustainability School earned Bronze under Sustainability Initiative of the Year in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
“Clear reporting gives investors and other stakeholders a better view of how we make decisions, manage the business and plan for the long term,” said Frederic C. DyBuncio, President and Chief Executive Officer of SM Investments.
“The other awards show how that same sense of responsibility is carried through by our businesses in the communities they serve,” he added.

Community programs take center stage
SM Supermalls, meanwhile, accounted for eight recognitions covering customer experiences, environmental programs, inclusivity, literacy and support for local arts.
The Philippine International Pyromusical Competition earned Gold for Brand Experience of the Year — Consumer, while the Find Your SM campaign received Silver in the same category.
SM’s sustainability and social development programs also drew recognition. The SM Green Movement won Silver for Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility, while the SM Cares Coastal Cleanup received Silver for Achievement in Environment.
The SM Cares A Mall for All initiative likewise earned Silver for Achievement in Diversity and Inclusion, recognizing efforts to make shopping centers more welcoming and accessible to people from different sectors of society.
For SM Supermalls President Steven T. Tan, the awards reflect how seemingly simple mall experiences can become meaningful parts of everyday community life.
“People experience a mall through the things they do there, not through what we say about it,” Tan said. “A place to read, an event that brings local art to more people, or a program that makes the mall easier to use can make a practical difference to a community.”
Turning malls into spaces for reading and art
Among the other award-winning initiatives was the SM Cares Book Nook, which received Bronze for Most Innovative Creative Project. The program provides spaces inside malls where visitors can read, exchange and share books.
The Empowering Communities campaign was also recognized under Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, SM Mindanao Art received Bronze in the Corporate and Community — Community Engagement Event category, spotlighting its role in providing Mindanaoan artists with a larger platform to showcase their work to the public.
The 2026 International Business Awards were judged by more than 300 business professionals over a two-month period, with winners determined based on the average scores given by the judging panels.
Now in its 23rd year, the International Business Awards recognize outstanding organizations, executives, entrepreneurs and teams from around the world.
For SM, the 12-award haul underscores a broader strategy that stretches from greater transparency in the boardroom to programs that bring sustainability, accessibility, culture and community engagement closer to everyday Filipinos.
