Fortinet names industry veteran Luca Simonelli to lead Asia Pacific growth strategy

Singapore – Global cybersecurity leader Fortinet has appointed seasoned technology executive Luca Simonelli as its new Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific (APAC), reinforcing the company’s commitment to expanding its presence across one of the world’s fastest-growing cybersecurity markets.

Based in Singapore, Simonelli will lead Fortinet’s Asia Pacific sales organization, overseeing operations across Japan, North Asia, Southeast Asia, India and SAARC, Australia, and New Zealand. In his new role, he will spearhead the company’s regional strategy, deepen engagement with customers and partners, and drive sustained business growth across the region.

Simonelli brings more than three decades of global technology leadership experience, with deep expertise spanning cybersecurity, networking, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), cloud security, and managed services. He most recently held a senior leadership position at GCX Managed Services.

His appointment also marks a return to Fortinet, where he previously spent nearly eight years leading the company’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) business. Throughout his career, Simonelli has successfully built and scaled high-performing organizations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific, earning a reputation for driving business transformation and customer success.

Simonelli holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Milan and will be based at Fortinet’s regional headquarters in Singapore.
