Former Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, who serves as former President Rodrigo Duterte’s legal counsel at the Hague Tribunal, has been hospitalized in the Netherlands after suffering a medical emergency. He is currently receiving treatment, though details of his condition have not been disclosed.
Before his hospitalization, Medialdea was able to visit Duterte, who remains in detention at the International Criminal Court (ICC). His medical episode comes as he plays a key role in the former president’s legal defense.
