Several areas in the country will continue to experience rains due to the easterlies and the northeast monsoon or “amihan”, the state weather bureau said on Monday.
“The northeast monsoon will bring light rains over some areas in Luzon, while a huge part of the archipelago could expect warm temperature due to the easterlies,” Rhea Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
The easterlies, however, will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across Mindanao.
Flash floods or landslides are also possible due to moderate to heavy rains.
The northeast monsoon will cause light rains over Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao, and isolated light rains across Ilocos Region.
The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.
No low pressure area is being monitored inside and outside the Philippine Area of Resposibility, Torres said.
A temperature of up to 33 °C is forecast in Metro Manila; and up to 31 °C in Laoag, Tuguegarao and Legazpi.
The temperature in Iloilo, Kalayaan Islands, Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, and Davao will reach up to 32 °C, while up to 33 °C is expected in Zamboanga.
Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will prevail across Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Mindanao.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with light to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
