The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Negros Oriental is preparing to help three more towns establish Negosyo Centers this year.

DTI-Negros Oriental official Krystle Jade Bato said the agency would work with the local governments of Tayasan, Manjuyod, and Jimalalud to put up the business assistance hubs.

Bato said the initiative was part of the implementation of Republic Act 10644, or the Go Negosyo Act.

The law requires cities and municipalities to establish Negosyo Centers in coordination with the DTI to support new and existing entrepreneurs.

Under the arrangement, the DTI provides personnel for the centers, while local governments provide the office or building where the facility will operate.

Bato said the centers serve as one-stop assistance hubs for residents who plan to open businesses or need help in managing and expanding their enterprises.

The six Negros Oriental local government units that still have no Negosyo Centers are Tayasan, Manjuyod, Vallehermoso, Jimalalud, Basay, and Bacong.

DTI earlier opened Negosyo Centers in Sta. Catalina and Zamboanguita. Residents in towns without the hubs may still seek help from nearby areas, including business registration assistance, free advisory services, and access to financing programs through the Small Business Corporation.
