DOTr removes MRT3 general manager from post

Vince Dizon

Department of Transportation secretary Vince Dizon said on Tuesday that Metro Rail Transit-3 General Manager Oscar Bongon was removed and relieved from his post.

The reason of Bongon’s relief has yet to be reported but DOTr already presented a list of possible replacement.

The DOTr is waiting for the Palace’s decision on the matter.

MRT3 encountered multiple issues recently. One example is the escalator, which malfunctioned, causing people to fall on top of each other and injuring 10 people.

Earlier, the MRT3 Northbound train stopped operating for hours, leaving passengers trying to pry the windows open.

Previously, the train also experienced a mishap where it suddenly halted at the Shaw Boulevard station and caused passengers to lose balance.
