The Department of Tourism has recognized P-pop group BINI and Sophia Laforteza of Katseye for representing Filipino talent at the Coachella music festival.

The DOT said BINI made history as the first Filipino P-pop group to perform at the globally known festival held in the United States.

It noted that the group delivered a 45-minute set featuring 10 songs that drew international attention and highlighted their growing global presence.

The agency said the performances reflected not only musical talent but also Filipino creativity and cultural identity on a world stage.

Officials added that Sophia Laforteza’s appearance alongside BINI further emphasized the rising visibility of Filipino artists in global entertainment.

The DOT said these milestones underscored the increasing influence of Filipino music and performers in international platforms.

It also expressed support for the artists, saying their success helps inspire younger generations and promotes the Philippines globally.

BINI is set to continue its international activities with a scheduled performance at the Grammy Museum’s “Global Spin Live” series following its Coachella appearance.
