The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Negros Oriental Field Office announced on Thursday the release of more than PHP1.75 million in cash-for-work assistance to 351 beneficiaries from Tayasan town.
A ceremonial payout for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries took place at Robinsons Place shopping mall as part of the Independence Day job fair. Raizza Phoebe Rubia, DOLE-Negros Oriental information officer, stated that each beneficiary would receive PHP5,010 for a 10-day work program.
The services provided included street sweeping, canal cleaning, and tree planting, as determined by the barangay. “Of the total number of TUPAD beneficiaries, only 10 came to the job fair for the ceremonial payout while the rest of them will have another activity at the Tayasan public market in the afternoon,” Rubia noted.
Beneficiaries received codes to claim their salaries from Palawan Express Pera Padala.
