The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) closed a recruitment agency in Cubao, Quezon City on Friday for allegedly operating without a proper license.
The closure followed an entrapment and inspection conducted by the DMW in coordination with the Philippine National Police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
During the operation, the agency reportedly demanded placement fees from applicants seeking jobs in Greece and Hong Kong.
Three agency staff were caught during the entrapment but denied the allegations.
The DMW said it is still assessing how many workers the agency deployed to Greece, Hong Kong, and Qatar. The department added that it would assist workers already abroad in securing the necessary documents and in filing complaints.
This marks the third recruitment agency shut down by the DMW this year. The department also noted that 32 illegal recruitment agencies were closed in 2025.
Authorities emphasized their commitment to cracking down on illegal recruitment to protect overseas Filipino workers from exploitation.
