The Department of Education (DepEd) said 3,924 classrooms were damaged by the combined effects of former Tropical Cyclone Maymay and the southwest monsoon.
In its 8 a.m. situation report on Monday, DepEd said 722 schools had sustained damage across affected areas.
Of the total, 751 classrooms were destroyed, 818 were severely damaged and 2,355 had minor damage.
The weather disturbances also affected more than 6.5 million learners and 288,967 personnel in 10,029 public schools across 61 schools divisions in eight regions.
DepEd said 52 schools were being used as evacuation centers, with 239 classrooms accommodating 1,057 families.
Central Luzon recorded the highest number of schools with suspended in-person classes, affecting 3,546 campuses.
The department also reported damage to 5,368 chairs, 380 information and communications technology units and 6,227 learning materials.
DepEd said it had begun processing Php 20.418 million for cleanup and clearing operations and Php 115.395 million for minor repairs to 2,355 classrooms.
