
A seven-month-old baby was found dead at Blk 34, Kalayaan Street Corner Eusebio Avenue, Pasig City on Tuesday, Abs-Cbn News Reported.
Pasig City resident Jhon Cagas saw the body of the young baby boy and immediately called 911 to report his finding.
“I quickly grabbed my cell phone and called 911 about the incident. When we saw the child, he was naked, wrapped in plastic. We immediately covered him with a blue cloth.”
Several residents were already wearing face masks because of the pungent smell.
“They didn’t pay attention because they thought it was from the gills that people were throwing away here,” said Cagas.
It was already afternoon when Barangay Pinagbuhatan received the report, and they immediately responded with the police and medical rescuers.
According to Barangay Pinagbuhatan Councilor Arcie Lucas. “They assessed the baby’s situation, they declared the body dead,”
The barangay is still investigating the identity of the baby and who dumped it on the roadside.
It took almost half a day before the baby’s body was recovered from the area.
Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at midnight, the funeral home arrived.
“We also couldn’t provide permits or the sanitary from various offices. We just asked the funeral home to get them. According to the funeral home, they need them before they can take the body. Usually, it’s a relative because, in our scenario, no one can identify who the relative is,” said Councilor Jess Santos of Barangay Pinagbuhatan.
Barangay Pinagbuhatan has already cooperated with the action center to identify anyone involved in this incident.
“To those who know, who are the relatives and parents, please let us know in the barangay so we can go and bury the child properly,” said Kagawad Arcie Lucas of Barangay Pinagbuhatan.
And while no one has yet been identified as responsible for the young baby, the barangay will take care of giving the baby a proper burial.
