DAVAO CITY – More than 150,000 sea travelers were assisted by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) across the Davao Region during the Undas 2026 observance, while police reported zero incidents in Davao City’s cemeteries and memorial parks.

The Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) said Tuesday that 150,984 passengers received assistance under Oplan Byaheng Ayos: Undas 2026 from October 29 to noon of November 3.

To ensure maritime safety during the holiday rush, the Coast Guard deployed 377 personnel to major ports and coastal areas throughout the region.

Authorities also inspected 674 vessels and 889 motor bancas and monitored 41,187 rolling cargoes during the five-day operation.

According to the CGDSEM, maritime operations were conducted under generally favorable weather conditions, although some areas experienced isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported no security incidents as 174,807 people visited cemeteries and memorial parks across the city to commemorate All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

The DCPO deployed 556 police officers, supported by 136 personnel from Task Force Davao, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Another 1,232 members of advocacy organizations and volunteer groups assisted in maintaining security and providing public assistance.

DCPO Director Col. Peter Madria credited the peaceful observance to the coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies, partner organizations, volunteers, and residents.

Madria emphasized that operational preparedness, cooperation among government agencies, and community participation were instrumental in maintaining public safety throughout the holiday.

The local security report was consistent with the Philippine National Police’s nationwide assessment, which described Undas 2026 as generally peaceful and orderly.

National police data showed that more than 40.7 million cemetery visits were recorded across the country from October 30 to November 2.
