Authorities in Davao have ramped up their anti-drug campaign, arresting 22 individuals and confiscating an estimated PHP2 million worth of illegal substances in a series of police operations, the Police Regional Office in Davao (PRO-11) reported Thursday.
According to PRO-11 director Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, law enforcement,t conducted 14 successful raids between Tuesday and Wednesday, leading to the seizure of 228.1 grams of shabu and 4,084.6 grams of dried marijuana leaves.
“This is part of our relentless efforts to rid Davao of illegal drugs and maintain peace and order in the region,” Rosete stated.
Beyond the anti-drug operations, police intensified their efforts to track down fugitives. Between Feb. 10 and 16, authorities apprehended 79 wanted individuals, including high-profile suspects involved in various crimes.
Rosete reiterated the police force’s commitment to pursuing criminals and urged the public to support their efforts by reporting information on fugitives through local police stations or the PRO-11 hotline.
“We encourage the community to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement to ensure that these criminals are brought to justice,” he added.
The recent arrests highlight the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to crack down on illegal activities and ensure public safety in the region.
