DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported on Monday the confiscation of illegal drugs valued at over P1.9 million during a weeklong operation conducted from April 20 to 26.
In a report, DCPO acting Director Colonel Hansel Marantan said their units conducted 29 anti-drug operations throughout the week, leading to the arrest of 37 individuals involved in illegal drug activities.
The operations resulted in the seizure of 292.4 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with an estimated street value of P1.9 million, along with 114.7 grams of marijuana valued at P13,770.
“The DCPO remains resolute in its mission to ensure the safety and security of Davao City and its residents,” Marantan said.
In addition to the anti-drug efforts, the DCPO conducted 63 operations aimed at apprehending wanted individuals, successfully arresting 63 persons, including 15 who were listed as most wanted.
Moreover, nine operations targeting the proliferation of loose firearms led to the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of three illegal firearms.
Marantan said, “In addition, one individual voluntarily surrendered a firearm, six others turned in their firearms for safekeeping under Oplan Katok, and two related cases were filed in court.” (PNA)
