The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), recently held a valuable workshop to teach Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) how to transform their harvested cacao into finished chocolate products.
Participants from the ALIAR Cooperative in San Fernando, Camarines Sur, took part in the training, where they learned how to make chili-infused dark chocolate and coconut truffles—products that have strong market potential and could help boost their income while expanding the reach of their local produce.
The initiative aims to equip farmers with knowledge on value-adding processes that enhance livelihood opportunities and contribute to the economic development of the region.
