DA, swine industry unite to enforce pork price cap

The Department of Agriculture (DA) and key stakeholders from the swine industry have agreed to tighten the enforcement of the maximum suggested retail price (MSRP) on pork products.

In a recent meeting, private sector representatives committed to monitoring their own ranks to help prevent excessive pricing and protect consumers from profiteering.

According to the DA, strong collaboration between the government and industry is crucial to keeping pork prices affordable amid ongoing challenges in supply and logistics.

The stricter implementation of the MSRP is expected to strike a balance between consumer protection and market stability.
