The Cotabato Light and Power Company (Cotabato Light), in partnership with the Aboitiz Foundation Inc., distributed food aid to families affected by recent floods in Maguindanao del Norte on Monday.
According to Cotabato Light Marketing and Communications supervisor Doreen Alve Almirante, a total of 150 sacks of rice were turned over to the office of Rep. Bai Dimple Mastura to provide immediate relief to displaced households.
Around 200 families or 1,000 individuals were affected by the flooding in the towns of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Kabuntalan, Northern Kabuntalan, Datu Blah Sinsuat, Sultan Kudarat, and Sultan Mastura.
In a statement, Cotabato Light president and COO Valentin Saludes III said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to community support in times of disaster.
“Through this assistance, we hope to provide immediate relief and support to help them recover,” Saludes said.
He added, “To all those affected, we are with you in your recovery. Together, we will rise for a safer and stronger community.”
