The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will begin printing more than 90 million ballots on Monday for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) scheduled on November 2, 2026.
The printing will start at 1 p.m. at the National Printing Office (NPO) in Quezon City, covering both official ballots and accountable forms for the synchronized village and youth polls.
“It is the first time in the history of the Comelec and NPO that we will print more than 90 million ballots,” Comelec chair George Garcia said.
The total includes 69 million ballots for barangay elections and 23 million for SK. Garcia said the early start aims to ensure smooth preparations and allow time to address any technical or logistical issues.
“We want to make sure that if there will be any problems, at least our printing, including verification, will be completed as soon as possible,” he explained.
Voter registration will resume on Oct. 20 and run until May 18, 2026, which may increase the total ballots to around 95 million.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. earlier signed Republic Act No. 12232, moving the BSKE from Dec. 1, 2025, to the first Monday of November 2026 to allow Comelec to focus on the Bangsamoro parliamentary elections, which have also been reset to March 31, 2026, following a Supreme Court ruling.
