China will provide ₱141 million in humanitarian assistance to the Philippines following the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Uwan and Typhoon Tino, the Chinese Embassy in Manila announced.
The aid package includes USD 1 million (around ₱58 million) in cash and 10 million yuan renminbi (around ₱82.8 million) worth of relief goods.
“We express deep condolences to the victims and sincere sympathies to the bereaved families, the injured, and the affected communities,” the embassy said. “We sincerely hope that the Filipino people in the disaster-stricken areas will recover and rebuild their homes soon.”
The embassy added that Chinese provinces, local Chinese communities, and Chinese businesses in the Philippines have already extended assistance to affected areas.
Super Typhoon Uwan recently battered most of Luzon and parts of the Visayas, displacing thousands and leaving 25 dead, while Typhoon Tino caused severe flooding across Visayas and Mindanao, killing 232.
