The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has moved the public consultation on fare hike petitions for public utility vehicles (PUVs) to November 12.
In a statement on Tuesday, the LTFRB said the rescheduling was due to Super Typhoon Uwan, which prompted Malacañang to suspend government work on Monday.
“This public consultation aims to present the basis of the proposed fare adjustments, gather inputs from stakeholders, and ensure transparency and inclusivity in the decision-making process,” the LTFRB said.
The agency encouraged commuters, operators, drivers, media, and the public to take part in the discussion to ensure their perspectives are considered before a final decision is made.
Last week, the LTFRB consolidated all pending fare hike petitions for PUVs as part of efforts to clear over 37,000 petitions and motions filed with the agency.
Aside from the consultation in Quezon City, LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza II also instructed regional directors to conduct their own consultations and submit reports by November 14.
