The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) said scholarship opportunities have been made available to over 40,000 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the Bicol Region through an educational caravan.
The initiative, implemented by CHED through Unified Financial Assistance for Tertiary Education, forms part of the Patuloy na Edukasyon, Patuloy na Pag-ahon campaign aimed at guiding senior high school students.
Bicol CHED-UniFAST lead regional coordinator Emmanuel Villamor said the program was carried out in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and the Department of Education (DepEd), in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
He said the activity was designed to help graduating students choose between pursuing college degrees or technical vocational courses based on their skills and interests.
The caravan has already been held in Catanduanes and Masbate, with a recent stop in Daraga, and more activities scheduled in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Sorsogon.
Students who joined the event said it helped them explore available scholarships and plan their educational paths after senior high school.
Parents also welcomed the program, saying it provides opportunities for children, including those facing financial and physical challenges, to continue their studies.
CHED said the project aims to equip students with information needed to make informed decisions, improve employment prospects, and promote wider access to education.
