A lucky bettor from Cebu won the PHP19.4 million jackpot in the Lotto 6/42 draw on April 2, turning April Fools’ Day into a day of good fortune. The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) confirmed that the winning ticket was purchased at A&G Square, Catmon, Cebu and bore the winning combination 23-05-39-11-02-07.
The winner has one year to claim the PHP19,410,097 prize at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City. To do so, they must present the winning ticket along with two valid IDs. Under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law, lottery winnings above PHP10,000 are subject to a 20% tax.
Aside from the jackpot winner, 33 bettors won PHP24,000 each for correctly picking five of the six winning numbers. Additionally, 1,823 players will receive PHP800 for matching four numbers, while 24,750 bettors will get PHP20 for hitting three digits.
The Lotto 6/42 is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles encouraged the public to continue supporting the lottery, as its proceeds help fund health programs, medical services, and national charities.
