ROME, ITALY – Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle offered prayers for the health and well-being of Pope Leo XIV during the International Mission Rosary held at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome.

Tagle joined the faithful in praying for the pontiff, emphasizing the importance of faith, unity, and spiritual solidarity within the Catholic Church.

Referring to Pope Leo XIV as “the missionary who became Pope,” the Filipino cardinal encouraged Catholics to remember the Holy Father in their prayers as he continues his mission of leading the Church.

The International Mission Rosary brings together members of the Catholic community to pray for missionaries, the Church’s evangelization efforts, and the needs of people around the world.

Pope Leo XIV, who previously served as a missionary in Peru, has emphasized the importance of missionary service, compassion, and outreach to communities in need.

Tagle’s prayer for the pontiff highlighted the Catholic tradition of supporting Church leaders through prayer and collective expressions of faith.

The gathering also served as an opportunity to promote unity among Catholics and reaffirm their commitment to the Church’s missionary work.
