Canadian fugitive in trafficking case tracked down in Mandaluyong

Police arrested a Canadian wanted in connection with a trafficking-related case in Mandaluyong City, the Philippine National Police reported.

The 44-year-old suspect, identified only as alias “Donald,” was apprehended along F. Martinez Street in Barangay Plainview on August 17.

Personnel from the Mandaluyong City Police Station served an alias warrant issued by the Mandaluyong Regional Trial Court Branch 213.

The warrant involved an alleged violation of Section 4(e) of Republic Act No. 9208, or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.

Police did not provide further details about the circumstances of the case or the allegations that resulted in the issuance of the warrant.

Following his arrest, the suspect underwent a medical examination before he was brought to the Mandaluyong City Police Station custodial facility.

The suspect remained in police custody pending further legal proceedings before the court handling the case.
