Bureau of Immigration arrests 3 suspected fake Filipinos in Pampanga

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has reported the arrest of three individuals suspected of using false Filipino identities in separate operations in Pampanga.

BI Commissioner Joel Viado announced the arrest of a Chinese national identified as Lin Yi, 35, on July 31 at a business establishment on Pandan Road, Angeles City, Pampanga. The arrest followed an anonymous complaint against Lin, who was found to be operating a carwash business in the area. The complainant alleged that Lin was using a Filipino identity for his business transactions.

The BI received a copy of Lin’s birth certificate, which was suspiciously registered late, along with a Philippine identification card and an official receipt for a driver’s license in the country. It was also discovered that Lin holds a working visa valid until 2027 under his Chinese identity.

Meanwhile, Yan Yize, 30, was arrested in a residential unit on Sarmiento St., Malabanias, Angeles City. Another suspect, Wang Jiangyi, 55, was apprehended in Brgy. Panipuan, Mexico, Pampanga.

According to government intelligence forces, both Yan and Wang were using Filipino identities and allegedly possessed late-registered Philippine birth certificates, BIR TIN identification, and business registration documents from the Securities and Exchange Commission. They are believed to be connected to a construction and development corporation that is reportedly involved in land acquisition activities.
