The provincial government of Bulacan has urged for the replacement of all six rubber gates at Bustos Dam after one of them was damaged. The local government expressed concern that other gates might also be damaged, potentially leading to more serious incidents.
The issue has been forwarded to the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) for prompt action.
The Bulacan government recommended that stronger materials be used in replacing the gates to ensure durability. However, the NIA acknowledged that while steps are being taken to address the issue, funding remains a significant challenge.
