Jobseekers in Bicol were given direct access to more than 200 vacant government positions through a Civil Service Commission recruitment event that brought several agencies together in one venue.
The CSC-Bicol said 226 applicants registered for Trabaho at Serbisyo Hatid sa Bayan 2026, allowing them to compare openings, ask about qualifications and submit application documents without going from office to office.
Regional Director Rosallini Moneda said the event was designed to make the government hiring process more accessible, especially for first-time applicants and those who had been searching for work for months.
Participants were also given practical guidance on preparing for government applications, which the CSC said could help them in future job searches beyond the fair itself.
The event drew unemployed workers and recent graduates from different parts of Bicol, including applicants from Albay and Sorsogon seeking opportunities in public service.
Participating institutions included Bicol Medical Center, Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center, Bicol University, the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
Other agencies represented were the Commission on Elections, the departments of Agrarian Reform, Information and Communications Technology, Labor and Employment, and Public Works and Highways, along with the Professional Regulation Commission, PhilHealth and the Philippine Statistics Authority.
The hiring activity formed part of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary and served as a platform for bringing government employment opportunities closer to applicants.
