LEGAZPI CITY – Police arrested 85 wanted persons across the Bicol Region, including individuals with outstanding warrants dating as far back as 36 years, during Warrant Day Operations on Friday,
The regional police reported on Saturday that among those arrested were three regional, five provincial, and 12 municipal most-wanted persons.
Those captured included four individuals who had allegedly evaded arrest for decades. The longest-standing warrant, issued 36 years ago, was served on alias Lyn, who was wanted for less serious physical injuries.
The three regional most-wanted persons were identified by their aliases Joe, Jose, and Bert.
Alias Joe, who ranked second on the regional police’s most wanted list, is wanted for murder.
Alias Jose, ranked fifth, faces five counts of qualified rape of a minor and one count of acts of lasciviousness, with recommended bail set at PHP108,000.
Alias Bert, ranked eighth, is wanted for three counts of rape.
Regional Police Director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio said the operation underscored the need to pursue outstanding warrants, including those that had remained unserved for years.
“Through intensified intelligence gathering, proper planning and coordination among our units, we will continue to strengthen our operations to ensure that no warrant is neglected,” he said. (PNA)
