LEGAZPI CITY – Police arrested a 39-year-old chicken vendor classified as a high-value individual (HVI) and confiscated more than Php 2 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Basud, Camarines Norte, on Friday, October 9.

Police Regional Office (PRO) Bicol Director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio identified the suspect only as alias “Boy,” who was apprehended in Barangay Poblacion 2.

Authorities recovered 18 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing approximately 315 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 2.14 million.

Police records showed that the suspect had previous booking records involving several cases, including an alleged violation of Section 15, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, in Meycauayan, Bulacan, on October 16, 2021.

Silvio said police would intensify operations against individuals involved in illegal drug activities to protect communities, particularly young people.

“We will not allow individuals involved in illegal drugs to continue harming our communities,” Silvio said.

The suspect and seized evidence remain in police custody for documentation and further legal proceedings.
