Belangel’s career-high 36 powers Daegu to dominant win

Daegu KOGAS Pegasus handed the Seoul Samsung Thunders a 114-77 defeat in the Korean Basketball League on Saturday at Jamsil Gymnasium, with Filipino import SJ Belangel leading the charge.

Belangel turned in a career-high 36 points, including a sizzling 6-of-10 performance from beyond the arc, marking his best three-point outing to date. He also contributed eight assists, three rebounds, and three steals, guiding Daegu to a 14-10 record.

Canadian forward Andrew Nicholson and Senegalese center Youssopha Ndoye also made significant contributions. Nicholson tallied 22 points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals, while Ndoye posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The loss marked the Thunders’ fourth in their last five games, leaving them with a 7-17 record and in ninth place in the 10-team league.
