More than 5,000 learners of Antique National School joined the first flag-raising ceremony on Monday as the province’s largest public school formally opened school year 2026-2027.
The ceremony was held at the school campus in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique, where students, teachers, and school officials gathered to mark the return of regular classes.
School principal Roger Jomolo said Antique Police Provincial Director Col. Ryan Devaras attended the event and reminded learners to follow school rules meant to promote safety, discipline, and a positive learning environment.
Jomolo said the school would continue to observe Department of Education policies aimed at protecting students while they were inside the campus.
He cited DepEd Order No. 4, which provides guidelines against bullying and lays down safety measures to help ensure the welfare of learners in schools.
Aside from reminders on discipline and safety, students also received guidance on health and proper nutrition from the school nurse.
Jomolo said enrollment would remain open until July even though classes had already started.
He said learners who still wished to enroll only needed to bring their report card so the school could process their admission.
