Alsons Development and Investment Corporation (Alsons Dev) reinforced its role as a champion of culture-led community building as it served as a strategic partner for the Davao leg of National Arts Month, held on February 20–21, 2026.
The collaboration underscored the company’s belief that vibrant cities are shaped not only by economic progress, but by a thriving cultural life that nurtures identity, creativity, and shared purpose.
The celebration was mounted in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the Conrado and Ladislawa Alcantara Foundation Inc., bringing together public institutions, private organizations, and creative communities in a unified effort to spotlight local talent and heritage.
Festivities opened at Rizal Park with performances by students from the Department of Education’s Special Program for the Arts (SPA), offering a glimpse into the next generation of Mindanaoan artists.
The afternoon saw the Davao Choreographers Forum convene local dance practitioners for dialogue and shared learning, while the evening culminated in a powerful concert by the Kaliwat Performing Arts Collective, Ang Yuta, ang Tawo ug ang Kalinaw (The Land, the People, and Peace), weaving together movement, music, and meaning.
“As a real estate developer, we believe communities should be vibrant not only economically, but also culturally. A city that nurtures its artists nurtures its soul. When culture thrives, so does Davao,” said Alsons Dev Vice President and General Manager Jolla A. Soriaga, highlighting the company’s view of culture as a cornerstone of sustainable and inclusive development.
Activities continued on February 21 at Poblacion Market Central with the opening of Mugna: A Visual Arts Exhibit, featuring works by SPA students. One of the highlights of the Davao leg of National Arts Month, the exhibit celebrates youthful perspectives and creative exploration and will be open to the public until March 7, 2026.
Alsons Dev President and CEO Miguel Rene A. Dominguez joined partners and young artists at the exhibit opening, symbolizing the collective commitment behind the initiative. He reaffirmed the company’s long-term support for programs that expand access to the arts and strengthen cultural appreciation across communities.
Alsons Dev’s collaboration with the NCCA and the Davao City Office for Culture and the Arts reflects its broader mission to help build inclusive, dynamic communities anchored on heritage, creativity, and shared identity.
“We look forward to many more years of collaboration, building a city where diversity is celebrated, the arts are cherished, and culture guides our growth,” Dominguez said.
